Sunt temeri că activitatea vulcanică ar putea continua și în următoarele trei luni, ceea ce pune în pericol casele de pe insulă. Vulcanul Cumbre Vieja a început să erupă în urmă cu o lună.

Joi au avut loc noi evacuări, 500 de oameni fiind nevoiți să își părăsească locuințele urgent, peste noapte, în timp ce râurile de lavă înaintează spre coastă. Până acum, aproximativ 7.500 de oameni au fost evacuați.

Râurile de lavă provoacă distrugeri fără precedent pe insulă și au îngropat complet locuințe și au distrus bunurile oamenilor. Aproximativ 2.185 de clădiri au fost distruse de la începutul erupțiilor, notează AlephNews.

Potrivit informațiilor transmise de programul Copernicus al Uniunii Europene de observare a Pământului din satelit, lava a acoperit 866 de hectare de teren.

Autoritățile spun că oamenii sunt disperați și încep să își piardă speranța pe măsură ce erupția vulcanului continuă la fel de puternic.
