Un american se plimbă pe străzile luxoase din Beverly Hills într-un costum făcut din 30 de kilograme de deșeuri

Un activist de mediu din Statele Unite se plimbă păşind anevoios pe străzile luxoase din Beverly Hills, cărând aproape 30 de kilograme de deşeuri pe care şi le-a depozitat cu meticulozitate în costumul său transparent din plastic de la începutul unui proiect educaţional pe care îl conduce, relatează miercuri AFP.

„Pentru cei mai mulţi dintre noi, deşeurile sunt departe de ochi, de minte. Le aruncăm la gunoi şi nu ne mai gândim niciodată la ele. Am vrut să găsesc o modalitate vizuală de a ajuta oamenii să înţeleagă cu adevărat ce reprezintă deşeurile pe care le acumulăm", a explicat Rob Greenfield pentru AFP.

În cadrul provocării sale, el a decis să transporte asupra sa toate deşeurile pe care le generează timp de o lună întreagă, plimbându-se pe străzile din Los Angeles pentru a-i sensibiliza pe cei pe care îi întâlneşte în cale.

Ajuns aproape de sfârşitul experimentului, Rob Greenfield poartă cu el 28 de kilograme de deşeuri, în principal ambalaje, pe care le transportă în buzunarele uriaşe ataşate pe membre, burtă şi spate.

Picioarele lui sunt atât de pline de deşeuri încât are un mers asemănător cu cel al unui robot, efect potenţat de sunetul metalic al cutiilor goale care se ciocnesc unele de altele în timp ce trece prin faţa unui butic de lux.

„În medie, o persoană creează peste două kilograme de deşeuri pe zi, aşa că acest costum trebuie să poată suporta multă greutate", a explicat activistul de mediu.

„În jurul celei de-a douăsprezecea zi am început să simt greutatea consumerismului. Am simţit greutatea, am văzut şi rezultatul şi mi-am spus uau, e o nebunie cât de mult gunoi adunăm", a declarat el.

Tânărul, care se mândreşte că nu are decât 44 de obiecte în posesie pentru nevoile sale zilnice, este de obicei un propovăduitor al minimalismului şi oferă sfaturi pe internet pentru reducerea consumului şi a poluării.

În 2019, pe tot parcursul anului, el s-a hrănit fără să cumpere nimic din comerţ, cultivând şi recoltând ceea ce mânca.

Însă în cadrul experimentului său - pe care l-a desfăşurat şi la New York, în 2016 - el a renunţat la principiile sale timp de treizeci de zile pentru a se comporta ca un american obişnuit.

Datorită ţinutei sale şi a zâmbetului pe care îl afişează mereu, Rob atrage cu uşurinţă atenţia trecătorilor şi le satisface curiozitatea în legătură cu valorile pe care doreşte să le promoveze.

„Oamenii înţeleg mesajul şi mă ajută să ajung la toate categoriile de populaţie. Sigur că unii cred că sunt o persoană fără adăpost sau că am probleme mintale, dar în general oamenii au fost pozitivi", a spus el.
