Yemen authorities have seized broadcasters for satellite signal of TV channels Al Jazeera and Al Arabiya, and left them with no possibility to broadcast live in the country, announce their sites.

Information Minister spokesman from Yemen declared that TV channels' equipment was seized because of not being registered (at the minister): 'The seizure was legal, the department from Sana has been warned.'

Governmental authorities accused Al Jazeera channel of instigating messages that would encourage South secessionists.
Al Arabiya representatives sustain their equipment was legally brought in the country, and its seizure is linked to authorities' reluctance to Southern situation being made public. Al Jazeera has not commented the incident.

Southern separatists militate in favor of creating an autonomous state and fight with authorities - this happening in the very tough economic situation of Yemen. Southern Yemen was an independent country through 1967 – 1990. In 1994 a civil war started and Northern part of Yemen won.
